Up for auction is this beautiful 1853 Seated Liberty Quarter.  This quarter was minted at the Philadelphia Mint and certified by NGC as Extra Fine.  This quarter has a “details” label because it was cleaned at some point in the past and now it is just beautiful with great eye-appeal.  This quarter is made of 90% silver and 10% copper.
This quarter is unique because only in 1853 did quarters have magnificent, beautiful rays on the reverse (backside). These rays make this type of quarter one of the most beautiful ever made.  See the photos of the rays on the back of this coin.  These 1853 quarters were made at both the Philadelphia and New Orleans mints and are highly sought-after by collectors.  They sell quickly.
The case is brand new and does not have any scratches on it.
